Week 11 and a tough break for NFL fans in Mexico City. The Monday night game between Kansas City and the Rams was moved to the LA Coliseum because of poor conditions of the playing surface. A month ago, Estadio Azteca hosted a concert featuring Shakira and fans pretty much tore up the field. Rainy conditions also gave the grounds crew little time to replace the sod in time for this week’s game. NFL officials, along with representatives of both teams and the Players Association agreed that the game should be moved due to safety concerns. 90,000 fans were expected on Monday night. We’ll have more on who we think will win later on in the broadcast.

Bye Week Teams: Buffalo, Cleveland, Miami, New England, NY Jets, San Francisco
Thursday, November 15
Green Bay at Seattle
Line: Seahawks by 2½
The Pack are coming off a big win at home against Miami. Now they travel west to take on the Seahawks, who lost a tough one to the Rams. A quick turnaround that doesn’t favor Seattle by much. They’re going to need that 12th man to help as much as they can verses a tough Packers offense.
Smooth’s Pick – Green Bay (24-21)
Sunday, November 18
Cincinnati at Baltimore
Line: Ravens by 3½
The Bengals got spanked against New Orleans. They picked up the just relieved Hue Jackson to help on defense. They’re going to need it against a Ravens team that is coming off a bye week and look to even things up in the AFC North. This will be a tough game.
Smooth’s Pick – Baltimore (26-23)
Dallas at Atlanta
Line: Falcons by 3
The Cowboys got a much needed win against Philadelphia on Sunday night to stay alive in the NFC East race. Now they take on a Falcons team that is coming off an ugly loss to Cleveland. Both teams are 4-5 on the season and need this victory to stay in the playoff hunt.
Smooth’s Pick – Dallas (27-24)
Tampa Bay at NY Giants
Line: Giants by 1½
This is the first time this season the GMen have been picked as favorites. They’re just coming off a narrow win against San Francisco. They head back the MetLife Stadium to take on the Bucs, who are still smarting off a bad loss to Washington. Tough call on who has the upper hand in this one, but I think Big Blue slightly in this game.
Smooth’s Pick – NY Giants (24-21)
Pittsburgh at Jacksonville
Line: Steelers by 5½
The Steelers won’t have running back LeVeon Bell for the rest of the season as he is holding out. They don’t really need him, James Carter is doing very well in his place. The Steelers also coming off a bruising win over Carolina on Thursday night. The Jags are in a freefall and look like they could be in danger of missing the playoffs with another loss.
Smooth’s Pick – Pittsburgh (21-16)
Houston at Washington
Line: Texans by 3
Las Vegas was not impressed with the Redskins win battering of Tampa Bay. Otherwise they would have been favored in this game on the road against the Texans. They’re coming off a bye week and should be refreshed and ready for the Redskins. It will be a close game.
This is my upset special!
Smooth’s Pick – Washington (20-17)
Tennessee at Indianapolis
Line: Colts by 2
The Titans got their biggest victory of the season beating New England handedly. They travel to Indy, where this game could factor in the playoff hunt. The Colts got a big win against division rival, Jacksonville and they need this win badly to stay in the hunt. Also a close game.
Smooth’s Pick – Tennessee (19-16)
Carolina at Detroit
Line: Panthers by 4
Carolina got man-handled by Pittsburgh on Thursday night. They need to lick their wounds and re-group as they head to Motown. The Lions who are coming off a tough loss to division rival, Chicago could see their playoff dreams go in smoke with another loss. They could ill afford to lose another game.
Smooth’s Pick – Detroit (27-26)
Denver at LA Chargers
Line: Bolts by 7
The Broncos are coming off a bye week. They head to Carson, California to take on the Bolts who laid the smack down on Oakland last weekend. They can put even more heat on Kansas City in the AFC West with a win. They’re a hot team and they could be a sleeper in the playoffs.
This is my lock!
Smooth’s Pick – LA Chargers (30-19)
Oakland at Arizona
Line: Cardinals by 5
The Raiders look like they’re going to tank this season. In four of their last five games, they haven’t been able to score over 10 points. They lost to the Chargers last weekend. Luckily for them, they have the Cardinals, who are also having offense problems. They’re coming off a loss to KC. This is a game that could determine who gets the #1 overall pick in next year’s draft.
Smooth’s Pick – Arizona (17-10)
Philadelphia at New Orleans
Line: Saints by 8½
The Eagles are not the Super Bowl team from last year as evident from their 4-5 record and a disappointing loss to Dallas last weekend. Now they have to go up against the Saints who are clearly the best team in the NFC. This could get ugly real fast, or it could be pretty exciting.
Smooth’s Pick – New Orleans (31-24)
Minnesota at Chicago
Line: Bears by 2½
This is the biggest game in years of the Bears. After a couple of lean years, they’re back on top of the NFC North after a win over Detroit and they’re in a prime time slot against the Vikings, who are coming off a bye week. This matchup will either tighten up the division, or put the Bears in prime position to take the top spot.
Smooth’s Pick – Chicago (28-21)
Monday November 19
Kansas City at LA Rams
Line: Rams by 3½
As we mentioned earlier, this game was supposed to be played in Mexico City, but field conditions at Estadio Azteca were not up to NFL. The game was moved back to LA. The Rams coming off a tough win over Seattle. They take on the red hot Chiefs who are winners of 9 of their last 10 games, including last week against Arizona. This will be a tough game for the Rams’ defense who were smoked by the Saints two weeks ago. The Chiefs offense is the same, and that could pose some problems.
Smooth’s Pick – Kansas City (37-28)
